Dear members and supporters,
I regret to inform you that the American Fishing Foundation
will not be holding the annual Klamath fishing derby this year. Due to the downturn in the economy we simply could
not fill enough teams to justify having the derby. As I am sure you well know the fishing derby
is a fundraising event. Our ultimate
goal is to raise funds to help propagate positive change for the river and
surrounding habitat. However, there are
many costs associated with such an event, and if we cannot solicit enough teams
to cover our costs, then we are wise not to continue. This cancellation, however, is in no way an
indication of the end of AFF or the Annual Klamath Fishing Derby. This is just a minor road bump on our journey
for success. We fully intend to put
forth more and more derbies and other events in the years to come. You can find announcements and sign-up forms
for future events on our website affinc.org. Once again, all of us at AFF
sincerely apologize for those of you who were looking forward to the event, and
I assure those of you who have already made deposits for teams will get your
deposits back shortly. Thanks you all
